Glynnis will demonstrate surface decoration techniques and show how to make a slab covered with slip and then “stretch” the image to create a faux bois (or false wood grain) texture. Each person will then make their own slab and cut it into a plate shape and place it on a chinette plate to give it the plate form. Then each student will follow the demonstrated process to complete their plate. Once the pieces have dried they will be fired and a top glaze will be applied. Finished work will then be available for pick up at the O.A.C. Supplies will be provided at class.
