Ev Stransky will read from her book. ‘So many events on the world stage, or on my own stage, I have chronicled with poems. At these times poetry has served me well as a ship navigating a violent, or a calm sea.’

“My first poem, ‘Bursting from a Thankful Heart,' angered my 5th grade teacher. She accused me of copying it; said I couldn't have written it. I've carried that poem in my purse my whole adult life. I process ‘Life’ with writing...poetry. Sometimes I feel it's not me bringing forth the words.”
