Join the barn quilt movement by creating your own painted quilt for your barn, home, garage, or garden fence. After a short historical overview of barn quilts, you will begin with a pre-primed 4' x 4' or 2’ x 2’ board and be guided through each step including: drafting, taping, and painting. After you get some tips to paint the masked areas, you will work at your own speed. Depending on your design and pace, you will leave with a finished quilt or with it almost completed along with full instructions on how to finish/seal it confidently. When you register you need to decide which size you will do- 4' x 4' OR 2’ x 2’ pre primed box. Your finished board will prove to be quite a showpiece for years to come! Note: there is a detailed list included in the online course description at www.owatonnacommunityed.org including suggested pattern choices. Please review it as it also shows the supplies you need to bring to class. It is vital you refer to this! Call us if you need assistance or stop by Roosevelt and we can print off everything you need to be ready for class! If you have specific questions about this workshop, please email the instructor at naomi4664@gmail.com.
