The OAC is a place for your family to explore creativity together. Consider joining the OAC to help support our presence in the community and pass along an appreciation of the arts to future generations. We offer many family focused classes, workshops, events and activities throughout the year. Cocoa with Santa, Little Monsters Ball, Hand-made for the Holidays, Throwing Together, Tea in the Afternoon and ARTventures to name a few.
Families are invited to the OAC to view the gallery exhibit featuring a new artist each month, it’s free and open to the public Tuesday-Sunday 1:00-5:00pm. The OAC gallery will also be open for families to see the work of practicing artists. At the beginning of each month there is an artist reception to open the exhibit. This is a chance to meet the artist and ask questions. Once at the OAC pick up the Gallery Guide to use as you talk about the art work.

Celebrate your Birthday at the Owatonna Arts Center! Dress the kids for a mess and send them to our studio for an 1½ hour art activity tailored to your interests. Choose from painting, clay, printmaking, drawing, collage, or bookmaking. Each child will create their own unique work of art! A ½ hour is reserved to unwrap presents, eat cake and present the Birthday Boy/Girl with a custom gift from the OAC.

Pricing Includes: Invitations, Decorations, Table Clothes, 2 hr Studio Rental, 1 ½ hr Instructor, Aprons, Art Supplies, and Birthday Gift.
Parents should be present to greet guests and supply additional supervision, cake/refreshments, and paper supplies/utensils.

The art center will supply invitations if you wish at no extra cost. Clay projects must be picked up by the birthday child's parents at the Owatonna Art Center. They are typically ready 2 weeks after the party. There is a 25% non-refundable deposit require to hold the date. Parties may be reschedules but there is a $20 rescheduling fee if it is within 2 weeks of the party date. Annual Members receive a 10% discount off the party when booking a birthday party at the zoo.
